New Moons mark the beginning of a cycle setting the themes for the month ahead. Aquarius is the sign of the Water Barer. He pours the sweet water for the benefit of all. The emphasis on sweet water is important as this is the only water we can drink and it allows life to thrive. In addition it is different from salt water as it comes from rivers, springs and lakes rather than from oceans and seas.
